Supplemental Risk Briefing: Palantir Technologies Inc.

On September 9, 2020, the Investor Alliance published a supplemental briefing on Palantir Technologies, Inc. (Palantir) in light of its decision in August 2020 to publicly list the company. This supplemental briefing highlights and contextualizes new and existing risks including human rights risks posed by Palantir's business relationship with the U.S. government and ICE.

Last year, the Investor Alliance published a human rights risk briefing for investors on Palantir, a privately-owned U.S. software company that provides big data analytics to government agencies and private companies in the United States and internationally, including contracts to design software systems for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), an agency with a track record of human rights abuses.  The initial briefing concluded that “the human rights risks posed by Palantir’s business relationship with the U.S. government and ICE are significant.”

On August 25, 2020, Palantir filed a S-1 registration document with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in preparation of its proposed direct listing targeted for September 24, 2020, on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).
