Investor Briefing on the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible AI
On Tuesday, April 28th, at 8am PT / 11am ET / 4pm UK / 5pm CET, the Investor Alliance for Human Rights and the World Benchmarking Alliance’s Collective Impact Coalition will co-host an investor briefing on the newly released OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible AI, the first internationally agreed, government-backed framework for responsible AI due diligence.
The Guidance aims to support companies involved in the AI system value chain in their implementation of the MNE Guidelines and the AI Principles. With various frameworks on responsible AI use and risk management being published, this Guidance serves to promote policy coherence and interoperability between the OECD and other national or international AI risk management frameworks. It applies the OECD’s six-step due diligence framework aligned with the UNGPs to AI systems, with tailored considerations for suppliers, developers and users – actors across the AI value chain.
The Guidance offers:
• An introduction to the concept of RBC due diligence and an overview of the broader AI risk management policy landscape;
• An overview of the RBC due diligence framework and practical implementation examples for enterprises involved in the development and use of AI systems;
• A roadmap of existing OECD and other national or international AI risk management frameworks and how they complement and relate to one another;
• Practical examples for implementation drawing on leading AI risk management frameworks as well as desk research and consultations with experts.
You can find an executive summary of the Guidance here.
Our speakers include:
• Rashad Abelson, Technology Sector Lead, OECD Centre for Responsible Business Conduct
• Benjamin Michel, Policy Analyst, OECD Centre for Responsible Business Conduct
and we will also have investors who are engaging with the tech sector on responsible AI share their experiences engaging portfolio companies on AI-related risks and impacts. This will be followed by a Q&A with the OECD representatives.
