Leadership Transition at the Investor Alliance for Human Rights
The Investor Alliance for Human Rights was launched as an initiative of the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility (ICCR) in May 2018. In just two years, membership has grown to over 160 institutional investors from 18 countries, representing over US$4 trillion in assets under management. We are very proud of how much the Investor Alliance has accomplished in such a short amount of time. The rapid support for this work demonstrates the appetite of the investment community for enhanced tools and expertise when it comes to implementing the investor responsibility to respect human rights.
Having established a solid foundation for the Investor Alliance, Director Paloma Muñoz Quick and Associate Director Sara Blackwell have decided to transition out of the organization. They will continue to work with the Investor Alliance through the end of June to help advance priority projects.
“ICCR is grateful to Paloma and Sara for their leadership and many contributions in shaping the Investor Alliance and wishes them both well in their future endeavors” said Josh Zinner, CEO of ICCR. “They have done outstanding work and have been instrumental in laying a strong groundwork for the Investor Alliance, positioning it for future success.”
“We are immensely proud of all that our community has achieved since the Investor Alliance was launched”, said Paloma Muñoz Quick. “We are also deeply grateful to our Steering Committee, Advisory Committee, members, funders, colleagues, and allies who have all played instrumental roles in the extensive work of the Investor Alliance to date.”
Until such time as replacement staff can be on-boarded, David Schilling, ICCR’s Senior Program Director for Human Rights and a respected figure in the business and human rights community, will assume interim responsibility for keeping Alliance projects moving forward, effective June 1. Anita Dorett, ICCR’s Associate Program Director who has been working with the Investor Alliance for the past year, will take on additional responsibility with David to support Alliance projects. ICCR expects to have new leadership in place for the Investor Alliance this summer.
